Whether it was through the introduction of minimum wage and child labor laws, the creation of the Social Security system, or the historic Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Democratic Party has been a forerunner in bringing just social policy to Americans. The Democrats in Congress followed this trend by clearing the way for the passage of the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act, the largest expansion of health care coverage since the creation of Medicare fifty years ago!
The historic legislation is a prelude to this year’s mid-term elections. We are now engaged in one of the most important political battles in our history. Make no mistake about it; with a critical U.S. Senate seat and an open congressional seat on the Washington State ballot, we will see a firestorm of Republican special interest campaign money in our state.
With the help of your donations, the State Democratic Party is able to:
- Provide a foundation for election campaigns with early recruitment programs, campaign training, and the continued development of campaign resources.
- Allow local and statewide candidates access to the Party’s up-to-date voter file and voter targeting resources.
- Keep in touch with hundreds of thousands of Democrats who participate in our Party and support our candidates.
- Give Democratic candidates and campaigns access to the party resources that have been developed and maintained with your financial help.
