Legislative and Local Candidates
Democrats in Washington State announce their support for candidates in two ways.
First, the elected and appointed Precinct Committee Officers who will be able to vote in a partisan race elect an official Democratic nominee. These nominees are chosen in accordance with the Washington State Democrats' Rules for the Selection of Democratic Candidates and Nominees for Public Office. Only one candidate may be elected as a nominee in any single race.
In addition, local County and Legislative District Party Organizations may endorse candidates in both partisan and non-partisan races. These endorsements are made in accordance with rules set down by each local party organization, and can include multiple candidates in a race if the local party’s rules allow.
