Washington State Democrats Respond to McKenna’s Legislative Agenda

In response to the announcement of Attorney General Rob McKenna’s legislative agenda, Reesa Kossoff, communications director for the Washington State Democrats, issued the following statement:

“What’s most telling about McKenna’s legislative agenda is what’s not in it. His 2012 priorities are proof that he's giving up on his campaign promises to curb what state agencies pay out in expensive lawsuits. Despite seven years in Olympia to make good on these promises, McKenna failed to identify any meaningful strategy to help agencies reduce risk, allowing payouts to surge to $76 million last year –three times more than was spent the year before he took office.”
