Caucus and Convention Cycle

My name is Jaxon Ravens. I’m the Executive Director of the Washington State Democrats, and I’m pleased to share with you information about the Washington State Democrats’ Caucus and Convention Cycle. The information below should help to answer some of your questions, but if you have additional questions or need clarification on a particular point please contact me at jaxon@wa-democrats.org. The next event is the Democratic National Convention which will be held from August 25th - 28th in Denver, CO.

Fifty-one (51) delegates and 9 alternates were elected on May 17th to attend the Democratic National Convention. These individuals constitute the Elections Committee and elected an additional 27 delegates and 4 alternates at the State Convention on Sunday, June 15th (18 delegates and 3 alternates for Obama, 9 delegates and 1 alternate for Clinton, and 2 unpledged delegates.)

All the delegates for the National Convention have been chosen. But you can use these links as a reference about the process and how it worked.
