The King County GOP’s loyalty goes to the guy who fired John McKay – Karl Rove
SEATTLE – Presidential advisor and White House hack Karl Rove will visit King County on Saturday to raise money for the King County Republican Party.
He does so just months after having ousted loyal King County Republican John McKay from his post as U.S. Attorney. McKay, whose tenure as U.S. Attorney saw increases in nearly every measurable statistic used to gauge the performance of U.S. attorneys, was fired for not falsely convening a grand jury after the 2004 gubernatorial election.
Despite years of service to Republican causes – including his older brother Mike serving as Vice Chair of the 2004 Bush/Cheney Presidential campaign – Karl Rove saw it fit to relieve McKay from his duties. Now the King County GOP – in a grotesque display of disloyalty – is inviting the head honcho himself to King County in order to raise money.
“Where is the loyalty of the King County GOP?” asked Washington State Democratic Party Chair Dwight Pelz. “Karl Rove fired John McKay, so the King County Republicans invite Karl Rove to Seattle to raise them some dirty money."
"George Bush is loyal to Cheney and Rumsfeld and Scooter and Brownie, and the King County Republicans are loyal to Karl Rove."###
