The Supreme Court’s ruling in the Hobby Lobby case is a step backward for our country. It means that a boss’s religious beliefs are more important than a woman’s own beliefs and decisions on medical matters that should be private and between her and her doctor.

Washington’s Democrats didn’t hesitate to respond.

Senator Patty Murray

Rep. Suzan DelBene, WA-01

Rep. Derek Kilmer, WA-06

Rep. Jim McDermott, WA-07

Rep. Adam Smith, WA-09

Rep. Denny Heck, WA-10

Meanwhile, Cathy McMorris Rodgers has hailed the Hobby Lobby decision as “a victory for religious freedom and the American people.”

Republican Pedro Celis, who’s running for Congress against Suzan DelBene, posted on Twitter, “Hobby Lobby has won a big victory for religious freedom today.”

This is just another example of what’s at stake this fall. All four of Washington’s Republican members of Congress — Jaime Herrera Beutler, Doc Hastings, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, and Dave Reichert — have voted to limit women’s health care choices.

John Boehner’s House continues to push legislation that restricts women’s choice. Now they’ll have the ruling of the Supreme Court to back them up!

Help us win this fall, and chip in $5 and keep John Boehner from getting more votes from his exteme, anti-woman agenda.
