Washington State Democratic Party Chair Tina Podlodowski introduces a new permanent Voter Protection Hotline—(206) 309-VOTE—to protect the right of all Washingtonians to vote.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | Friday, October 19, 2018

SEATTLE, WA — The Washington State Democratic Party is proud to announce the creation of a new free and permanent voter protection hotline — (206) 309-VOTE — where voters can gain help with registration and voting issues, report potential voter suppression incidents, and speak with attorneys about election-related matters.  According to Party Chair Tina Podlodowski “the hotline is an important tool for protecting voters and providing them with a free source of accurate and timely information. In the age of Donald Trump, Russian bots, and national voter suppression efforts, we can take nothing for granted.”

The hotline is monitored by attorneys familiar with Washington State election law, and can provide answers to a variety of questions, including those related to:

·Voter registration status;

·Rules and deadlines for voting by mail and by drop-box;

·Provisional ballots;

·Signature challenges;

· Processing and tabulation of ballots; and

· Voter intimidation and misinformation activities.

The hotline is free of charge and is currently accepting calls. It will be a permanent, standing resource provided by the Washington State Democrats, and will assist voters in both this election cycle and in future elections.
