Washington State Democratic Party Launches

New website and video series featuring Democrats’ powerful personal stories

SEATTLE, WA—The Washington State Democratic Party is announcing — a new digital storytelling effort that highlights uplifting stories from Democrats from across the state.

“When so much of what we see in an election cycle is negative, one of the goals of this website is to feature positive videos focused on our values, and what we as Democrats are fighting for in Washington state,” said Washington State Democratic Party Chair Tina Podlodowski. “These stories also really bring home our statewide presence; Democrats are represented in every part of the state. And while people’s individual reasons for being a Democrat vary, there’s a common theme: Democrats stand for fairness, and for helping each other — whether that’s through advocating for high quality health care for all, fighting for an economy that works for everyone, or investing in people’s futures. Democrats put people first.”

Many volunteer hours went into recording and editing the 12 videos, which include stories from farmers, veterans, students, and social workers in Spokane, Walla Walla, Seattle, Issaquah, Wenatchee, Deer Valley, and more.

Additional videos will be posted leading up to Election Day, and the site includes a section where people can submit their own reasons for being a Democrat.
