The following is an excerpt from the WSDC 2022 Platform, approved June 25, 2022:

Washington State Democrats recognize the unique and valuable history and cultural relationships of the lands, waterways, usual and accustomed areas regionally and internationally which are highly valued among Tribal Nations. All branches of US government must maintain a lasting and respectful relationship with Tribal Nations and oppose all attempts to diminish tribal sovereignty, tribal culture, natural resources, health care, or the general welfare of tribes. This is essential to open and meaningful government-to-government relations. We recognize the status of Urban Indian populations, and that the Federal Trust responsibility expands beyond Tribal Reservation borders. We recognize the harm our country has done to Native Americans. We recognize Washington State occupies tribal land.
