As Washington GOP Sticks With Trump, Public Stands By Inslee’s leadership

SEATTLE — Today, the Washington Post reported on a Survey Monkey Poll showing Governor Jay Inslee’s COVID response approval rating stands at 67%. That is 24 points higher than President Trump’s national approval rating.
This is the 6th poll since March showing the Governor with approval ratings over 60%, and the fifth with an approval rating over 65%. The vast majority of Washingtonians and health experts know that Jay Inslee’s strong, thoughtful leadership has saved “countless lives” as he responsibly guided our state through this unprecedented crisis. They agree that reopening our economy based on science and data — not mass infection — is the right step forward for Washington.
And on the other side of public opinion and health experts? Washington Republicans. Who all raised their hands in support of Donald Trump’s failed leadership, broken promises to Washington, and commitment to gut health care during a pandemic.
