    Everett Herald: No excuses on the Dream Act

    On the the first day of the 2014 legislative session, Democrats and Republicans in the Washington State House came together to pass the Dream Act, which would extend educational opportunity to children of undocumented immigrants. Senate Majority Leader Rodney Tom has said that the bill will not advance in the State Senate. The Everett Herald wrote this editorial in response.

    Statement on unemployment benefits extension

    On December 7th, the U.S. Senate took one more step in the process to restore unemployment benefits for millions of Americans across the country. Republicans refusal to act prevented Congress from renewing unemployment benefits on December 28th 2013, leaving 1.3 million Americans without this aid.
