Washington’s House Republicans – Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Dave Reichert, Jaime Herrera Beutler, and Doc Hastings – toed the party line and voted Yes on the Ryan Budget. With their votes, they voted to end Medicare as we know it, cuts taxes for millionaires by raising taxes on the middle class, and repeal the Affordable Care Act.
Chair Jaxon Ravens sent out the following email asking supporters to sign our petition condemning their Yes vote.

Yesterday, Washington Republicans proved once and for all – They aren’t on the side of Washington’s middle class.
In a party line vote, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Dave Reichert, Jaime Herrera Beutler, and Doc Hastings voted to pass the partisan, reckless Ryan budget.
The Ryan Budget ends Medicare as we know it, cuts taxes for millionaires by raising taxes on the middle class, dismantles programs for our most vulnerable, and repeals the Affordable Care Act.
It puts the privileged few before the people. It destroys our social safety net, slashing health care, education, and child care. Not only that, it would cost our country 3 million jobs.
Will you sign our petition condemning Washington’s House Republicans’ Yes vote on the Ryan Budget?
Our state has experienced extraordinary success with the Affordable Care Act. With their votes, Reichert, Herrera Beutler, McMorris Rodgers, and Hastings voted to take away health care from hundreds of thousands of Washingtonians, many of whom reside in their districts.
They voted to raise the taxes of middle class Washingtonians by approximately $2000 while giving millionaires an average of $87,000 in tax breaks.
If the Ryan Budget becomes law, 60,962 Washington seniors would have to pay more for their prescription drugs.
Their votes would cost our state nearly $12 billion in Medicaid funding that goes to our state’s neediest. And they would cut an additional $792 billion from Medicaid nationwide by repealing Medicaid expansion in the Affordable Care Act.
Sign our petition. Let Washington’s House Republicans know this isn’t responsible leadership.
Washingtonians have rejected these radical proposals over and over again. They are bad for our nation and our state. Stand with us today and let our Republican leaders know their vote for the Ryan Budget is unacceptable and will have consequences in November!
