(Seattle, WA) – Last night in an interview with Ryan Harris of Northwest Newsradio, Tiffany Smiley refused to say – after being repeatedly asked – whether she supports abortion exceptions for rape and incest. Tiffany Smiley has already made it clear that she supports allowing politicians to ban abortion, voicing her unmistakable support for the extreme Texas abortion ban — her campaign even recently doubled down on her support of the extreme Texas abortion ban.
Unequivocally, Smiley has made clear again and again that she supports allowing politicians to pass the most extreme abortion bans in their own states, and that she would not vote for any legislation to codify Roe v. Wade.
Now, in an interview Tiffany Smiley refused to simply say whether she supports exceptions for rape or incest.

HARRIS: The big issue, obviously, in this election since the overturning of Roe is the abortion issue. You have said you are 100 percent pro-life, but I just want to clarify where you stand on exceptions if we’re talking about the life of the mother or rape or incest.
SMILEY: I am personally pro-life, but look, there’s good people on both sidese…. Washington state voters long decided where they stand on the issue. So, I respect the will of the voters here in Washington state…
HARRIS: Okay, I understand and appreciate that answer, but it didn’t actually answer the question that I was hoping to clarify, and that’s where you stand on exceptions for rape, incest, or the life of the mother in danger.
SMILEY: Yeah, well I think there’s

HARRIS: Okay, I’m going to apologize because now I have to ask you a third time because my Zoom froze up there so I just missed the first part of that answer, I’m really sorry about that. On the exceptions.
SMILEY: Oh, so I was saying — medical ethics, you always protect the life of the mother. That is true across the board. So I was just saying that I respect the will of the voters of Washington state.
