ICYMI: Tiffany Smiley campaigns with Dinesh D’Souza in Yakima, doubles down on appearance with radical conspiracy theorist

(Seattle, WA) – Now that the primary election is over, Tiffany Smiley is doubling down on her attempts to distance herself from the extreme positions she took earlier in her campaign. But make no mistake: she’s as extreme as any other MAGA Republican. That’s exactly why she’ll be hobnobbing with a who’s who of Trump-endorsed MAGA candidates at a “TAKE BACK THE SENATE” fundraiser in Miami tonight with Blake Masters of Arizona, J.D. Vance of Ohio, Dr. Mehmet Oz of Pennsylvania, Adam Laxalt of Nevada, and others.

Tonight’s event is hosted by former PayPal executives with strong connections to MAGA mega-donor Peter Theil, and will feature “special guests” NRSC Chair Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) and Sens. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA). Sen. Rick Scott, who leads Senate Republicans’ campaign arm, has released a Republican agenda that would end Social Security and Medicare within five years and decimate programs that millions of American families depend on.

“At the beginning of her campaign, Tiffany Smiley promised her donors she would be a ‘rock-solid conservative vote’ in the United States Senate — and today, she’s showing her commitment to that pledge by palling around with mega MAGA candidates of the 2022 election cycle in Florida,” said Washington state Democratic Party spokesperson Caitlin Harrington. “Tiffany Smiley’s entire campaign is the tale of trying to have it both ways — presenting herself one way on TV to prospective voters while promising her MAGA Republican supporters that she’ll always be in their corner. Washington voters aren’t buying it now, and they’re not going to buy it on Election Day.”

Tiffany Smiley has made headlines recently for trying — and failing — to hide her extreme views from Washington voters ahead of the general election. She scrubbed the “ELECTION INTEGRITY” section — which stated she had “serious questions” about the integrity of the 2020 election — from her website and replaced it with a far more sanitized version.

Smiley has also attempted to backtrack her extreme position on abortion, even though she has referred to herself as “100 percent pro-life” and supported the Texas abortion ban, with no exceptions for rape or incest.

The Miami MAGA fundraiser is hosted by former PayPal executives Keith Rabois and David Sacks, friends of PayPal founder Peter Thiel, a MAGA mega donor who also has ties to white nationalists. The three men — Rabois, Sacks, and Thiel — attended Stanford together, where Rabois berated a member of the faculty with homophobic slurs and Sacks wrote an article in the Stanford Review that dismissed statutory rape as “a moral directive left on the books by pre-sexual revolution crustaceans.”
