WASHINGTON STATE DEMOCRATS RESCHEDULE MAGNUSON 2020 AWARDS DUE TO CAUTIONS ON CORONAVIRUS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | March 3, 2020

SEATTLE — Following Governor Jay Inslee’s words of caution yesterday for Washington residents to smartly consider whether they should attend large public gatherings, we at the Washington State Democrats are working on rescheduling our Magnuson 2020 Awards Dinner originally planned for Saturday, March 7th at the Washington State Convention Center to sometime later this spring. We also want to echo Governor Inslee’s call for Washingtonians to only rely only on reputable sources of information and local public health officials for the latest and most accurate information as the situation unfolds. This is a time to believe in our scientists and medical personnel working hard to keep us all safe and take personal responsibility for preventing the spread of not just the coronavirus itself, but also false information about the disease.

We take this public health emergency seriously and urge everyone to do their part to prevent the spread of this virus. Please accept our sincerest gratitude to everyone whose ticket purchase is already supporting our Washington State Democrats Organizing Team, who are currently in the field getting out the vote for the March 10th presidential primary. They are working tirelessly and we are all thankful for your support. While our event is being rescheduled, the work of organizing our communities to elect leaders who believe in science, healthcare for all, and caring for our communities and families will not stop.

All tickets already purchased will still be considered valid for the rescheduled dinner, and we will keep everyone apprised of the new date as we confirm it.
