FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 7, 2019

Washington State Democratic Party Chair Tina Podlodowski released the following statement on the inclusion of Washington’s 8th Congressional District in the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Frontline program:

“The 8th Congressional District was drawn to be a Republican district. But in 2018 we showed what is possible when you invest in grassroots organizing, really listen to voters, and empower individuals and communities. That work isn’t over. We’re still on the ground in the 8th District and all over the state, continuing to organize and mobilize.

“Now that Washington’s 8th Congressional District is part of the DCCC’s Frontline program, I’m confident that we can prove that 2018 wasn’t just a blue wave in Washington state — it was the start of a new political reality based on continuing grassroots efforts — and that we will reelect Congresswoman Kim Schrier in 2020, with the communities she serves leading the charge.”
