Full statement:

“Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, the highest ranking Republican woman in Congress, has never wavered in her support of Donald Trump. But now that Donald Trump is defending white supremacists, it’s time for her to speak up and be counted. She can’t say racism is evil in one breath and then say she supports Donald Trump in the other. So the question is, Cathy, do you still stand with Donald Trump? It’s not a difficult decision — either yes or no. Our President has clearly made his choice to defend white supremacy — a choice I believe is wrong for Washington state and for America — and that does not represent the values of Washingtonians.”

“My father fought as part of the Polish Armed Forces in the West during WWII, and watched the rise and defeat of Fascism and Nazism in Europe, including the horrors of the Holocaust. He immigrated to America because he believed our democracy would never allow such a rise again. Today, we stand at a critical crossroads in America — to allow white supremacists to gain a foothold of legitimacy, or to thoroughly denounce and remove their hateful actions and ideology from our country. Cathy, President Trump is a member of your party, and supposedly represents your values. Or does he? Make it known plainly and clearly – do you stand with Trump, or not? Washington state is waiting for your answer.”
